The Batman: Dumbo Star Colin Farrell To Play Penguin’s Role In Matt Reeves’ Upcoming Superhero Outing?
Matt Reeves’ The Batman has been in the news since its inception. The superhero outing, which stars Twilight actor Robert Pattinson in the titular role, is only getting bigger and better with every new addition. Only recently, news reports of Big Little Lies star Zoe Kravitz playing the Catwoman in this superhero outing were doing the rounds. Well, that has been confirmed and here, we are back with another rumour, an interesting one. As per a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Colin Farrell has been approached to play the antagonist's role of Penguin in the film.

Previously, DeVito had essayed the iconic Penguin’s role in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns that had released in the year 1992. Soon after that, Burgess Meredith was seen as the villain in Batman’s television series. Last but not the least; Robin Lord Taylor had played the younger version of Penguin in the drama series called Gotham. And now, it looks like Colin Farrell is all set to carry forward the legacy with this Matt Reeves’ film. Though there hasn’t been any official confirmation so far. (ALSO READ - FIRST PICTURE OUT: Robert Pattinson Begins Preps For Matt Reeves Film ‘The Batman’ And We Can't Keep Calm)

Other than him, Andy Serkis, too, has been approached to play the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman's butler Alfred Pennyworth in The Batman. If the news turns out to be true, Andy Serkis will be reuniting with filmmaker Matt Reeves after Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) and War for the Planet of the Apes (2017).

Meanwhile, The Batman is scheduled to hit the big screens on June 25, 2021.
